How Often Should You Post?
At an absolute minimum, one good post a day will help grow your business. Posting to often can lead followers to unfollow you due to clogging up their feed. Similar to Facebook, no one wants to see the same person posting over and over and over throughout the day, everyday. That is just annoying. I typically post once a day, from time to time I will post twice but 90% of the time, one a day for me. However, I feel posting good content can be done twice or three times throughout the day. Once you have your account set up as a business account you will be able to see analytics, which will show you the time of the day your followers on the site. Obviously, if they are on IG they need to see your post. Posting at 1pm is almost pointless if your followers are not typically active until 4pm. By that time your post has fallen so far down on their feed, they will not see it.
What Should You Post?
As the Owner of a Home Inspection company in Fresno, California my posts are typically pictures of the home I am inspecting that day. And on the days I am not doing any inspections I will typically post a photo of some weird/odd incorrect issue I have found recently at an inspection. For example, incorrect plumbing or electrical installations. This keeps me at the minimum of posting once a day. It is always good to post some personal type of photos from time to time. It's also good to come off as a real person and relatable. Regardless of what your business may be, photos of your work, jobs you have done, tools you use, clients/customers and showing yourself off is the best way to go.
What about using hashtags?
This is very critical especially for newer accounts. Your hashtags should be focused on your clients or customers. One of the biggest mistakes many make, and I am guilty of doing this when I first began to use Instagram, is when businesses make their hashtags around the post. This is incorrect. Your hashtags must be towards your clients, city, state, occupation. I will give you an example of the hashtags I use on every single post regardless of what the post is actually about. Say I post a photo of a house, or some defect found during the inspection my hashtags are always: #Fresno #California #RealEstate #Realtor #Entrepreneuer #smallbusiness I am also a Veteran in the military so I add in a #Veteran. Understand how that attracts to potential clients? I work in Fresno, California in Real Estate for Realtors I am an Entrepreneur and own a Small Business. So my account is now going to be seen by other realtors, entrepreneurs, veterans, fresno, california and other small business.
It is a pretty simple strategy, as I said before it just takes time and consistency. Remember this is FREE, so I recommend using it, using it to the best of your ability and using it often. Wishing you the best of luck and feel free to give us a follow @echomeinspections
