That kind of tan, off white piece of aluminum at the corner of the roof near the stucco siding. That is kick-out flashing. The purpose of this piece is direct water away from the siding of the home and divert it into the gutters or off of the roofing. This is proper installation of flashing. Again, your home inspector should have caught it if this piece was missing. But this area may be overlooked when asking for repairs. And if you never get around to repairing this or having a contractor fix it, you will end up something like this.
A common misconception in this industry is that you have to be involved in a real estate transaction in order to hire a home inspector. Not true! All of our inspection services are available to anyone at any time. By hiring a certified professional home inspector for certain services, you can save yourself hundreds if not thousands of dollars off of typical prices charged by larger companies. Also, by hiring a home inspector you are getting an unbiased, third party service that only has one agenda, and that is making sure that you and your family get the inspection service you need, done right and at a price that you can afford. If you live in the Fresno, California area please do not hesitate to contact EC Home Inspections at 559-512-0197 or order and schedule your home inspection online at www.echomeinspection.com
